Denotification of the Route 4 RNAV SIDs came into effect on 25th February 2021 resulting in a return to the legacy position

Following the CAA’s decision last year to order the denotification (removal) of the Route 4 RNAV SIDs (i.e. the removal of the route used since mid-2016), we are pleased to report that on 25th February the denotification came into effect, and aircraft returned to flying the conventional navigation route as it existed in 2012 (the legacy route).  Due to the restricted flight movements as a result of the pandemic, coupled with the wind direction (predominantly from the east) limiting the number of flights using Route 4, this change may not have been readily noticeable to everyone.
